Sana Hussain has more than 15 years of experience working across the public, private, and non-profit sectors at the intersection of tech and social impact developing partnerships, programs, and strategies to address complex social programs globally. Notably, Sana served as a Presidential Political Appointee under the Obama Administration at the White House and at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) from 2009 to 2017.
Currently, she is the Director of Corporate Partnerships at Raise for Good, leading client work for Pledge 1% 's flagship corporate program. The Builders program is an invitation-only community of 50+ high-growth tech companies leading in the social impact space, who help propel the Pledge 1% movement forward to inspire, educate, and empower every entrepreneur, company, and employee to be a force for good.
Prior to Raise for Good, Sana led partnerships for GitHub’s Education team where she managed 100+ partners who provided free developer tools to students and teachers globally. Before joining GitHub, Sana was the Director of Business Development at World Business Chicago, the city of Chicago’s economic development organization, where she led efforts in the tech sector driving inclusive economic growth and job creation.
As a Diplomat at USAID, Sana led priority engagements across Asia and the Middle East, including leading public-private partnerships across countries for the Presidential visit to India in 2010. Sana also led country strategies and helped develop and promote cutting-edge conflict programming globally.
Sana began her DC career at the White House Office of Presidential Correspondence where she served on the leadership team that designed and implemented the Presidential correspondence strategy. Before that, Sana worked in the United States Senate for then-Senator Obama, focusing on constituent services and outreach. Sana also worked on President Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign in various capacities. Early in her career, Sana worked with the United Nations in South Asia.
Sana received her bachelor’s degree in public policy and marketing from Indiana University, Bloomington. Sana has lived in Chicago since 2018 with her family.
