Desiree came to Nomi Network with a background in education, having served as a school teacher specializing in helping students close achievement gaps. Driven by the belief that with sustained support and resources, everyone can see their dreams actualized, Desiree brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to her role.

Desiree holds a Master of Science in Social Work from UT Arlington and a Bachelor of Science in English from the University of California Riverside. She is a certified teacher and a Licensed Master Social Worker, showcasing her varying educational background.

With nearly two decades of experience working in communities, Desiree has engaged in grassroots organizing, community education, and empowerment initiatives. Her dedication to witnessing individuals from various socioeconomic statuses and racial identities achieve empowerment is a testament to her commitment to the community.

In her role at Nomi Network, Desiree employs a strength-based approach to help youth realize that dream attainment is possible. Additionally, Desiree imparts essential life skills, guiding them towards greater independence. She instills the belief that they possess everything needed to take the next step in their lives.
