Wendy currently serves the President of the Stenkirke Family Foundation, as well as consultant and board member to a variety of not-for-profit organizations. She continues as an adjunct faculty member at John Brown University (JBU) in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. Prior to this year, she spent 17 years as a founding director and senior leader of the Soderquist Leadership Center at JBU – working with corporate clients, not-for-profit organizations, as well as college and graduate students. The bulk of her experience has been working with individuals and organizations to connect their leadership journey with their life principles, as well as teaching the tenets of healthy organizational cultures. She has a special interest in engaging with organizations that are working on creative solutions to endemic issues.
She began her career in student development at Taylor University in Upland, Indiana in 1985, after receiving her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Taylor and Ball State University, respectively. She spent 8 years in leadership positions at TU and enjoyed a hiatus at home as a single mom parenting three small children. When not working she travels with her husband, Kai, to visit the organizations they serve as well as their six children and 9 grandchildren who live across the country.
