Donna Tobin is a partner at Frankfurt Kurnit Klein and Selz in New York City and the Co-Chair of the firm’s Trademark and Brand Protection practice. She has worked for over 30 years to guide both established and emerging companies worldwide through the legal system in a variety of consumer products and services industries — including fashion, jewelry, specialty foods, beverages, and home furnishings in addition to representing well-known media, entertainment and sports entities.
Untangling complex areas of trademark and related laws, including in the areas of geographical indications, trade dress and designs for her clients, she renders trademark search and clearance opinions, effectively counsels on trademark portfolio management and monetization, and successfully handles federal court litigation as well as oppositions and cancellations before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.
Ms. Tobin is a member of the International Trademark Association (INTA) and a contributing member of the INTA Bulletin. She is also a member of the Federal Bar Council, Intellectual Property Section, and the New York State Bar Association, Section on Women in IP. She is a legal advisor to Women Across Frontiers, a magazine focusing on gender equality.
